Sitting at the jukebox, looking for some change I had to stop here, to get out of the rain I’ve been walking in circles trying to find A steady path away from your lies It ain’t easy, it’s been rough to see the subtle signs between the truth and the bluff Truth and the bluff and the joker’s wild I haven’t seen my cards in a good long while I think I’ll play my own hand for now Turn my dirt with my own plough Riding on the ferry, Gulf of Mexico I went to some places I didn’t have to go Through the deep dark woods in the back of my head To the corners of the meanings of every word I said It ain’t easy, it ain’t rough to see the subtle signs between the truth and the bluff Driving up the coast I see a setting sun An end to a novel, a story just begun Take a few photos write a few songs Been away from myself for much too long It ain’t easy, it ain’t rough to see the subtle signs between the truth and the bluff

Give in give up give everything you got Cause you’re never gonna get nothing when you’re dead Time’s on a string dangling from a broken clock Alarms should be ringing in your head There’s always a price, no matter how you spend or save Always a toll, you and I have to pay Nothing’s for nothing, nothing is for free There’s no money back guarantee Get it on and get it right, What is it you want to say Tick tock tick tock the mouse ran up the broken clock Don’t let that mouse get away There’s always a price, no matter how you spend or save Always a toll, you and I have to pay Nothing’s for nothing, nothing is for free There’s no money back guarantee There’s no money back guarantee Bridge – instrumental Give in give up give everything you got Cause you’re never gonna get nothing when you’re dead Time’s on a string dangling from a broken clock Alarms should be ringing in your head There’s always a price, no matter how you spend or save Always a toll, you and I have to pay Nothing’s for nothing, nothing is for free There’s no money back guarantee There’s no money back guarantee There’s no money back guarantee

My Old Shoes 04:08
I know you, you are standing in my old shoes From the tips of my fingers to the end of my toes The souls of my feet yeah my whole body knows I know you, you are standing in my old shoes Well I seen you, though we never met before From the pulse in my wrist through the swing of my hips To the words on my lips and the tightening of my grip I know you, you are standing in my old shoes Well I don’t want em back, you can count on that Rest assured those laces made me squirm and crawl Like you do right now, it’s in your furrowed brow Double knot those laces you might trip and fall I know you, you are standing in my old shoes I heard you, you are speaking with my old voice That quiver in your throat with the knock in your knees The shifting of your eyes yes I had that disease I know you, you are standing in my old shoes

Why is there a bible in my hotel room Why does my head split so far in two Guilty Sundays and midnight calls Ice machines clattering down the hall Why do I hear screaming voices all night long Sitcoms never dull the sound of things gone wrong Dirty laundry do not disturb Checking out without a word *Little white lies little white lies Spit ‘em out your mouth make your mother cry Diplomatic fool is it such a crime Little white lies little white lies Lonely highways and rent a car Radio spitting static in the dark Broken headlights, broken songs Broken promise, breaking dawn Guitar break

You Shine 02:56
I like to take the low road I tend to roam off the track Don’t always know when I’m going But I always make sure to come back It seems I’m always in motion Wish I knew how to slow down But when the show is over The pedal should be one with the ground YOU, SHINE WHEN THE DAY IS DONE YOU, SHINE WHEN THE DAY IS DONE I like to drive after midnight When the mystery unfolds Imagine who’s behind headlights And the stories that they haven’t told Flying under the radar I got the lay of the land I know I’m getting closer To the dream I buried in sand La las YOU, SHINE WHEN THE DAY IS DONE YOU, SHINE WHEN THE DAY IS DONE

Pink clouds October sky will you look me in the eye and tell me That what I see is what I get, cause I can’t jump without a net and I’m falling The words you say they may be true like perfect steps in tap dance shoes But will you follow through **Don’t let me hit the ground Don’t let me down Don’t let me lose what I found Don’t let me hit the ground Blue water August sun will you take this one on one and show me That who you are is good for me and you won’t be some absentee cuz I’m falling You might hold my hand and say that you will never walk away I could say my votes are in but I’m too scared to cast that spin. ** And you know where I stand And you know where I’ve been And you know who I am Can you be all you can? ** You might hold my hand and say that you will never walk away I could say my votes are in but I’m too scared to cast that spin. ** Pink clouds October sky will you look me in the eye

about

After having toured in Europe for several years with Klaus Kircher on bass and Robert Kainar on drums, we decided we wanted to do a bunch of recording together and have them come to New York so we could work with producer/engineer extraordinaire, Tim Hatfield. We did 1/2 of the songs in the studio on Hope Street (these 6) and 1/2 of the songs live at the Lakeside Lounge (on another page here on Bandcamp). This is the result. I love the band feel of this collection.
